HER SOCIAL CLUB: LEIMERT PARK/WEST ADAMS
Excited to offer a brand new workshop in partnership with Her Social Club, LA based monthly workshops for women who want to learn, create and connect. We will be dyeing with stencils made out of live plants! Learn the art of Indigo Stencil Resist pattern making and bring home a custom printed tote bag made with nature. We will learn the art of Katazome Stencils, using real plants to be your stencils. Custom patterned geometric stencils will also provided or you have the chance to design your own. It will be a relaxing and fun environment to learn in and make new friends along the way.
The event will take place in Natalie’s backyard in the West Adams District. Address will be emailed upon sign up. It will be a mini workshop and alfresco social event. This workshop is for everyone, and no experience is necessary. Light nibbles and refreshers provided. All dyeing materials and plants provided along with 1 high quality canvas tote bag.
Katazome is a Japanese method of dyeing fabrics using a resist paste applied through a stencil. The stencils were developed and used primarily for printing on fabrics for kimonos. This workshop reinterprets the Japanese art of Katazome with natural leaves and geometric stencils designed by Agnes.
