We have carefully curated this group of workshops to be accessible to do at home or inthe office. We focus on teaching the creative art form as well as connecting with participants and trying to connect them with each other. This focus sets our workshops apart from alternate online classes, as we aim to create inclusive experiences where everyone is empowered to make (regardless of their skill level). We encourage questions and interaction during the zoom experience.

ALCOHOL INKS:
GO WITH The Flow

In this special Alcohol Inks Experience, we will go where the inks take us. We’ll play with air to create fun, exciting, and colorful abstract paintings. Each and every piece you create will be different. We will let go of perfectionism and go with the flow. The key is to play and test things out without fear. We will be making coasters and wall art. Loosen up and create some abstract alcohol ink art on Yupo and tile using a straw, air and an air brush.

Alcohol ink is highly pigmented dye and, of course, alcohol based. These inks are manipulated using isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). As the inks are alcohol based they evaporate much quicker, so the paint dries in only a few minutes. Because of the nature of these inks there is a variety of techniques and styles that are unique to alcohol inks, and which allow for an endless river of creation to continually flow. 

FLUID PAINT PARTY:
POUR IT OUT

Paint Pouring, also referred to as Fluid Art, is a fun and expressive way to get creative. Every paint pour creation comes out entirely unique. In this relaxing workshop, participants explore acrylic pour painting, a type of fluid art that utilizes motion and contrast to create abstract color paintings. There are endless creative possibilities thanks to the different ways to combine acrylic paints. There’s something so satisfying about watching it spill across a surface.

This workshop is an active meditation. Fluid painting is a process that embraces slowing down, being present and letting go of perfection.

TIE DYE:
Joyful Play

Are you looking to add a touch of color to your life? Tie Dye is a form of art and makes everyone smile and feel good. Experiment with color and make some new wearable art. Tie Dye is such a fun process to play with pattern and make new things. 

Tie Dye is a wonderful practice for embarking on a journey without knowing the answer and for trusting creative instincts rather than over-thinking perfect solutions. We will be teaching 4 different tyeing techniques to create fun patterns, how to dye with different colors, and more. It's amazing all the things we can make with rubber bands, good dyes & great vibes.

BOTANICAL PRINTS:
Nature Therapy

Using printing plates and found flora, we will create unique pieces of art with nature's imprints. The workshop creates monoprints using found leaves. It's a great self care tool to hold nature in our hands and make art with it. We will learn how to create patterns with real leaves, play with color mixing, and practice pulling prints.

BLOCKPRINTING:
Celebrating Diversity

This creative experience is a practice that reveals the beauty and power of individual creativity. The process highlights the infinite variations different people can create with the same building blocks. We celebrate diversity and unique diverse voices with blockprinting. We will discuss pattern design and how to block print with the custom geometric blocks. We will also review how to create custom colors. We will then spend the final part of the experience hand cutting our own blocks and making stamps.

COLLAGE:
CREATIVE THINKING

We explore abstract art, color, and composition through the open ended medium of collage. The class will show how to rethink and approach collage in new ways. It will help see the possibilities of creating art based on mood and color. Collage is a very accessible medium that's fun and playful. It opens up the possibility of new art materials from the world around us.
