PARTNER’S ADVANCE

The Challenge

A national accounting company wanted to create a meaningful experience for its partners during its annual Advance in Napa. They were looking for something memorable that would strengthen relationships and leave participants feeling refreshed, inspired, and more connected.

The Approach

To support this goal, Crave Workshops facilitated Inks & Intentions, a creative wellness experience that blended abstract alcohol ink art with guided reflection, color exploration, and collaborative creativity. Rather than focusing on artistic skill, the workshop emphasized curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression.

Throughout the experience, participants engaged in a series of interactive exercises designed to build connection. The activity became a powerful metaphor for teamwork—demonstrating how individual perspectives combine to create something richer than any one person could make alone.

Together, the experience combined:

  • Exploring the meaning and emotional impact of color

  • Learning the techniques of abstract alcohol ink painting

  • Collaborative making through shared creative exercises

  • Conversations about the role of joy, creativity, and human connection in building stronger teams

THE IMPACT

The workshop created an atmosphere that was both energizing and deeply connecting.

Participants shared that the experience gave them permission to slow down, be present, and connect with colleagues in a way they rarely have the opportunity to do in a professional setting. The communal artwork fostered collaboration, sparked meaningful conversations, and demonstrated how creativity can strengthen relationships while creating space for joy.

Following the retreat, one of the partners shared that the workshop was their highest-rated experience in the 20-year history of their annual Advance.
